I have to admit, I have no clue what species of wood this is. I purchased several logs from a source in Texas that were supposed to be Mesquite, but once I worked my way down to this one log, I found it was not Mesquite. One thing for sure, it was really badly spalted, which meant lots of inlay work to fill all the holes & it does have nice grain patterns. The inlay is Sleeping Beauty Turquoise & I've finished it with several coats of a food-safe, hi-gloss, polyurethane. Approximate size is; 4" x 7". Signed & dated by artist craftsman.
HEY, if you like, I'd love to hear about it. Give me a shout out!!
