Hand turned out of a beautiful little blank of Ambrosia Maple. The color variations are due to the presence of various minerals in the wood & the "spalting" is usually caused by insects boring into the wood. Although a beautiful bowl by itself, I had to add a splash of turquoise inlay to create a little more contrast. Approximate size is; 6-1/2" x 3". Finished with several coats of a food-safe, non-toxic, hi-gloss polyurethane. Signed & dated by artist/craftsman.
Hand Turned Wooden Bowl**
A beautiful little bowl turned from a piece of Spalted Ambrosia Maple. Very nice color & grain patterns which I have enhanced by adding a few veins of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise inlay to. In keeping with my "Southwestern" theme, I've turned the upper lip in a bit. Approximate size is; 8 x 3". Finished with several coats of a food-safe, non-toxic, hi-gloss polyurethane. Signed & dated by artist/craftsman.
